Zanzi Tour (North - West)

So Sunday was here. We had agreed on catching up for breakfast at 9:00 am, after all the karaoke night took us full blast and we badly needed those Zzzz's.

The journey began. Tuned on to our iTrip, bealted our selves ready to roll, first headed up north towards Nungwi.

The trip up north was full of scenic views coloured with busy market places, green landscapes with a backdrop of the ocean and the northen isles of Zanzibar.
Apart from the music and us chatting, the most what was heard was the click's of the camera. Check them out !!

We stopped at Amaan bungalows Nungwi and decided to trail down the beach towards Kendwa. Walking this strip is a tour of its own, from the randomly displayed just catch, abondend mystic shells on the shore, mangrove trees battling to survive over erroded coral's to the children net fishing in shallow waters.
Ending up at the beautiful sandy beach's of Kendwa. Where powder like sand touches the azure blue ocean with a backdrop of palm trees. So we chilled down here for drinks in preparation of heading back to Nungwi.
There is alwasy one thing with this walk , its never the same. The stationery remains but the dymanic's change. Look carefully for Shell's, the just catch and most of it for the tide as once its high you gotta swim your way back ;)

It was 2:00 pm and time to head back to south going west. So where we heading to ? Stone Town, but via the spice farms.

The drive down was pretty quick and we were rushing that we make it to the spice farm's and get to c the sunset from stone town.

Turning left off Bububu police station we headed toward's Kidichi. Now this you should experience, climb the hill to Kidichi; stop and turn back to bububu police station going down hill. Its one of that majestic view of stone from the height above, this you only get while doing ariel photography, this place is the highest point of Zanzibar ;).
Anyways after doing the up and down the hill route, we headed back up hill towards Kidichi and stopping by the historic hamam bath's.

Entering the hamam's takes you back in time, imaginations of the bath's at work come from all dimensions.
The guide's at the bath, take you through the buidling; for a moment i was caught in time where i picutred actually how would it have been, being here at that time. Ohh !!! wild thoughts i can say where lingering me. mmh!!

After the hamam bath tour, we moved to the spice farm where we managed to see spices in their natural habitat and forms. I can tell you one thing, you will be suprised how these spices grow, as what you might think would be hanging from trees, in reality could be coming from the roots, what you thought came from flower; in reality could be the bark of the tree. Whew !! its woth to take a tour of this place.
After moving around the farm full of the aroma of mixed spices, we ended up to a treat of fruits and fresh coconut.
At this moment we had a very usefull conversation. Which started out as "If you get stranded on an island all you need is the island to have coconut trees. Then came the other motive, to get the meat and the water you will also need a knife, then it was said you have to know how to climb a coconut tree to get coconut. The final comment was if you get stranded you will by any will figure out your way out. :) "

Heading to Stone town, we paced through the gorge of crazy coconut's and more landscapes. Finally touching ground in Stone town. After stopping for fueling and time running by, we managed to drive down to Africa House Hotel, this spot is said to be the great for peering sunset.
The place was kool with few people and hotties around. Got a a place for a sit down and thats where we said; we have walked the beach's, gone through the hamam's why not we end the day the eastern way. Ordered a hubbly bubbly and lazied our selves waiting for the sun to go down the indian ocean.
Man at 5:30 pm the place started to fill up like rushing waters, we had to change places to ensure we get the front view.

The place gives you 3D view of the sunset, with mix colours of low clouds and dhow sails; a perfect sunset.

More to come ......
